Pros and cons of The Jungle Book - Story reading for Kids app for iPhone and iPad

The Jungle Book - Story reading for Kids app good for

A beautifully animated app of an old classic. Im so pleased to share one of my favourite childhood stories with my 2 year old. He loves it!
Great graphics & audio! Story told in German or English. Great for bedtime & language education as well! Really helpful!
How can you say no to a good story with some animation and two language options?! Thank you!
Love the features on this app !! Love all the apps this company has made !! Worth the price for my little one

Some bad moments

We listened to this as a bedtime story tonight. Kept thinking it would get better, but the opposite was true. Horrible story plot, character voices bad. We deleted.
My 2 years old adores this book and has so much fun interacting
I thought if grolly was Gona be like it is then jungle book would be awesome, but its not, its more story and less interaction, grolly is less story and more interaction, I wish they would put both together and make wonderful remakes of books with lots of interaction. I was a little disappointed.
Should be FREE!!!!!!! Just not as interactive or fun as Grolly or the others! Pretty disappointed.
Again disappointed after such nice apps from these people. Also causes my IPad to crash! Irritating even to my 2 year old.
I dont understand why a company that really knows how to build a childrens app, would put out an inferior app like this! The story - excerpted from Rudyard Kiplings famous book - is fine (short, but good); however, when kids expect an interactive story, they touch the screen a lot. (Even adults do that, when theyre testing out an app.) Well, if you do that during "The Jungle Book," what happens is you suspend the narration and prematurely turn the page! Even more confusing, the app seems to prompt you to do something as each page is turned, yet its never clear what youre supposed to do. The prompt is an arrow curving from right to left over an arrow curving left to right. It appears to suggest you trace a circle on the page, yet doing so has either no effect or the undesirable one mentioned above. It may be only meant to say you can turn pages either way. But, if you share this with a child, youll need to restrain their little hands until the pages narration is finished. Then they can explore and find the one, two, or sometimes three meager little movements they can provoke by tapping the screen; but, all of them turn out to be disappointing. In a field where competition is raging, releasing a book like this makes very little sense. These days, if youre going to call a book "interactive," those interactions had better offer up at least a small measure of enchantment. There are none whatsoever in The Jungle Book. Only the story itself, which might have been better with no interactions invited.
